15 September 2011 - Council agreed at its Full Council meeting to not continue with this project in the future following the decision of the Development Control Committee (linked below).

7 September 2011. Chorley Council's Development Control met on the 6th September and the application for the Pear Tree Recreation Fields Project was Refused.

A planning application for this project has been submitted to the Planning Authority and it published the valid application via Chorley Council's weekly planning list on Friday, 11 February - see list here.

Consultation Update

The Public Consultation period is drawing to a close and the Feedback report is to be published around the 15 September, following its approval by the Pear Tree Greens Committee.

The Council is to meet members of a residents group, who have set themselves up against the project, and dates have been offered to choose from.

The Council will consider the Pear Tree Greens Committee's recommendation on the project at its meeting on 21 October.

Consultation Event - brief report

The Parish Council was encouraged by the very large turnout at the recent public consultation event. It would have been difficult to count, but visitors were in excess of 150, possibly more.

Many suggestions and ideas were submitted by residents and visitors, the Council will now need to sit down to read and collate all the public consultation responses.

The Council, prior to drawing up a proposed plan undertook some professional surveys to make sure the land was viable to be used for recreations. Survey reports carried out on the land can be found below, linked as PDF files.

Following on from the project article 'Pear Tree Greens' in the Euxton WEB newsletter some time ago, Euxton Parish Council would like to update residents on progress and developments regarding this project.

The article mentioned that a number of surveys and reports were needed on the land before it was possible to know if the land was viable for recreation facilities. These surveys have now been completed and a draft consultation plan has been drawn up for the public consultation event with residents and neighbours.

Residents are invited to drop in between the consultation times to view the plans, ask questions, offer suggestions and or make comments on the proposals.

Feedback and suggestions from the consultation event will inform any changes needed to the design or layout prior to the planning application process.
