Sponsor the ‘Euxton In Bloom’ Entry The entry for the North West In Bloom competition is completed by the Parish Council and to assist towards the costs of the entry and the additional newsletters produced for the competition it offers a business the opportunity to sponsor the entry. In 2007 and 2008 West View Nursery sponsored the entry. The 2009 entry sponsorship would only cost £150 and include:

Sponsor a Permanent Flower Planter around the Village Around the village there a number of permanent flower planters which can be sponsored by local businesses. An additional bed is planned for 2008 and it most likely will be installed on the grass verge at the roundabout junction of Wigan Road and Dawbers Lane, by the noticeboard and seat. There are presently two planters sponsored by local business. Hunts Spar sponsor one by the shops on Runshaw Lane and The Water Dragon Ltd sponsors the one at the junction of Wigan Road and Runshaw Lane Locations Euxton Parish Council has a number planters, tubs and troughs around the village. The wooden log roll planters are situated at major traffic points around: Runshaw Lane : near the motorway bridge on the grass verge sold Runshaw Lane : next to the shops in the grass verge sold Dawbers Lane : opposite the former Xelflex factory on the grass verge available Balshaw Lane : junction at Highways Avenue, in front of shops on the grass sold Balshaw Lane : junction with Washington Lane, prominent grass verge corner sold Euxton Lane : by the Euxton boundary sign (small planter not suitable for sponsor plate) Wigan Road : in the middle of the village infront of the two tile centres available Wigan Road : junction with Wigan Road , opposite the Bay Horse pub available Wigan Road : junction roundabout with Dawbers Lane on the grass verge sold Planter responsibilities - planters are weeded, maintained and watered within the sponsorship cost so there is no additional costs or commitments. The Parish Council have the planters filled for Spring and Summer flowering. To sponsor one planter for both a Spring and a Summer planting would cost £200 per planter (plus the cost of a sponsorship plaque – approx £15 + vat).

Advertise in the Euxton Web Newsletter The Euxton Web is a quarterly newsletter produced by the Parish Council and distributed to all Euxton homes. It has spaces for local businesses to advertise to subsidise the cost of the printing and distribution. The newsletter is printed on quality gloss art paper and moved to full colour in March 2008. It consists of 4 sides of A4 but some issues are larger with either 6 or 8 sides. The newsletter is distributed the first week of: March, June, September and December. The deadline for inclusion is three weeks prior to the distribution date. Total distribution of the Euxton Web is 5,500. The Euxton Web is delivered by a distribution company to 3,349 properties in Euxton Solus, which means it is delivered on its own and not with other leaflets or inside a newspaper. Besides this delivery, the Parish Council posts or has hand delivered the newsletter to properties not yet covered by the distribution company, such as the new properties on Buckshaw Village and the more rural homes. This amounts to a further 2,000+ properties (and growing). Copies are also deposited with shops and pubs in the village for people to pick up. Issues of the Euxton Web, which includes all the advertisements, are also available on the Council’s website for anyone to access. www.euxtoncouncil.org.uk
