Euxton Parish Council is looking for a motivated individual who cares about Euxton, to support the current Parish Clerk/RFO.
This role is for an assistant to the present Clerk/RFO and in time following training, qualifications and experience can be expanded to take more responsibility and assume more hours.
The role is mostly administrative, liaising with suppliers and partner organisations, has financial elements and requires some design abilities and duties around the village. Attendance at some meetings which are held in the evening (see website to see Council and Committee meetings).
In recent years Euxton has grown with many additional houses and its services have also expanded in line with this growth. Euxton has over 13,000 residents spread over Euxton and a large part of Buckshaw Village.
The Council presently employs five village caretakers who look after the village, litter picking, maintaining and keeping the village a pleasant place to live and work. Included in this work is the maintenance of three equipped play areas, large skate park, recreation land, park land, an allotment site, village flower planters and the Council’s assets and street furniture.
This will be a part-time post with some flexibility on the working hours and the successful applicant will be expected to work mainly from an office in the village. It is essential that you will be able to travel to sites around the village and meetings using your own transport (business use insurance required).
The applicant could hold:
- ILCA (Introduction to Local Council Administration) OR
- FILCA (Financial Introduction to Local Council Administration) OR
- CILCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration) OR
- Higher relevant qualification
- if not, would be prepared to undergo Council funded CILCA training
If the successful candidate already has the required skill base, then the applicant will be assessed accordingly.
In return, we are offering a salary in accordance with the National Joint Council for Local Government Services (NJC), based on the applicant's experience and a work-based pension, 25 days holiday (pro rata).
